Special Event in January:

Dr. Dennis Sewell Appreciation Event

Saturday, January 28, 2012 - 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Dennis Sewell served as pastor of Highland Baptist Church for 15 years, retiring in 2001. After reflecting on the many years of service he has given to our Lord, the numerous lives he has touched in Jones County and other states, and learning of his failing health, a group of friends decided to honor him with a special event.

The community is being invited to attend a time of appreciation for Dr. Sewell and MRs. Vicki. THis event will be a time of celebration, doing what Bro. Dennis loves the most...praising and worshipin our Lord. Special music will be shared by Rev. Phillip and Mrs. Angella Griffin of Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Nelda Moore of Laurel; Mrs. Katrina Reagan of Laurel; The Highland Baptist Celebration Choir and Praise Band; as well as the Singing Men of Highland, under the direction of Bro. Tim Hubbard.

Guest speakers will include Rev. Ken Reagan of Heritage Heights Baptist Church, Rev. John Stockstill of CrossPointe Community Church. Emcee for the evening will be Rev. Phillip Griffin.

The evening promises to be an enjoyable time of worship and fellowship for the entire family. Come join us as we celebrate what God has done through Bro. Dennis and what He continues to do through each of us!

The Connection Cafe'

Serving Times will be from 5:15 -6:15 p.m. each Wednesday.

June - July we will be in the Gym for our Highland Family Summer Celebrations

Notice: In order to be better stewards of God's resources, we will ask that you make reservations each week for the Connection Cafe'. Forms are located in the pew racks, in the Worship Guide, or you may call the church office @ 601.428.8493. Everyone will need to make reservations by Monday @ noon for the Wednesday evening meals. Thank you for your assistance in making the work of our Kitchen crew more efficient.

We all need to grow deeper in our daily walk with Christ and these studies are designed to assist us in that process. These studies will begin, Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
